Sri Lanka has high protectionist policies on agriculture - links to the national security argument
US put duties on Chinese imported tyres to 35% and China argues that this protectionist - why did America do this - links to the idea of protecting domestic employment.
The EU imports bananas from former African, Caribbean and Pacific countries and puts tariffs else where e.g. large multi-nations in South Africa. To protect employment in former colonies which have higher costs. This tariff is now being removed.
